How to Install VirtualBox in macOS Catalina Version 10.15.7

In order to explore Parrot OS and Kali Linux, I am looking into hypervisors to run the virtual machines. Oracle VM VirtualBox is free, open source and can be installed in macOS.

Installation

  1. Download VirtualBox

  2. Verify SHA256 checksum shasum -a 256 <file-path> image.png 01.png

  3. Install 02.png

  4. Open Security Preferences 03.png

  5. Allow Software from developer "Oracle America, Inc." 04.png

  6. Open Virtual Box 05.png

A Hypervisor is also called Virtual Machine Monitor (VMM). It creates and runs Virtual Machines (VM).
